Sipsongpanna (西双版纳, pinyin Xishuangbanna) is a zizhi zhou (autonomous "state") in southern Yunnan Province, China. The capital city is Jinghong, which straddles the Mekong river.
Xishuangbanna is the home of the Dai minority. The region sits at a comparatively low altitude to the rest of Yunnan, and has a tropical climate. It is fast becoming a sought after tourist destination.
